He was predeceased by: his foster parents, Merlin Augustine and Nora Augustine; his siblings, Mary Angel, Nathan, Gerald and Peter; and his mother-in-law Alnetta C. Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Sarpy; his children, Jeffery Larond Sarpy of New Orleans and Chelsea J. Davis of Illinois; his grandchildren, Mya Silas, Zendaya Joseph, Lyria Teiona, Ethan Anderson, Dajah Davis and Lynxx Davis; his siblings, Mack Lacour of Chicago, Roy Coutee of Houston and Janet Sarpy of Houston; his foster sisters, Audry Keller, Josephine Augustine, Dorothy Roger, Karen Augustine and Merlin Augustine, Jr.; and his friends, Jay and Lisa Johnson.
