We are sad to announce that on April 16, 2021, at the age of 88, Joseph Canal (Simmesport, Louisiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Loretta Canal and Anna Torina Canal; his wife Yvonne Purpera; his former wife Gladys Bourgeois; his daughter-in-law Anita; his children, Joe Canal (Becky) of Tyler, TX., Bob Canal (Frankie) of Bluff City, Tennessee, Ron Canal (Tonee) of New York City, Don Canal (Marina) of Austin, TX. and Frannie Benjamin (Jeff) of Westerville, OH.; his sister Catherine Maloney of Covington; his grandchildren, Justin Canal, Tyler Canal, Caleb Canal, Gabriel Canal, Joey Canal, Jesse Canal, Josh Canal, Eli Canal, Cristina Canal, Madeleine Benjamin, Lydia Benjamin and Lilah Benjamin; his close friend Rose O'Rear; his son Mike Canal; his grandson Joshua Canal; his siblings, Rose Hart, Annie Dilberto, Connie Canal, Josephine Galiano, Peter Canal and Carlo Canal; and his grandfather Joe. He was also cherished by 6 great-grandchildren.
