He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ruth Prisock and Edwin Mathews. He is survived by: his wife Georgia Duren Mathews; his children, Russell Keith Mathews and Terri Lynne Mathews; his grandchildren, Bradley Keith Mathews (Jamie Mathews), Jeremy Mathews (Jordan Mathews), Braeden, MacKenzie, Lane, Aubreigh and Chloe; and his sisters, Joyce Fleming of West Monroe, Mary Jennings of Shreveport and Shirly Carter of New Braunfels, Texas..

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the ministry of Mission Point Baptist Church, 740 Linwood, Stonewall, LA 71078.
