He was predeceased by: his parents, W. L. Cox and Othella Cox; his wife Kathy; and his brother Layne Irvin. He is survived by: his siblings, Michael Cox (Bubba), Debbie Pellegrin and Myrtle Haire (Sissy); his children, Deanna Irvin, Amy Irvin, Antoinette Goin (Red), Angela Graham and Rusty Owens (Chandra); and his grandchildren, Trinity Deprez, Riley Deprez, Caymen Stockbauer, Rusty Owens Jr., Miranda Owens, Michael Graham and Ashley Graham. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (201 Attaway St, Shreveport, LA 71107).
