He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thomas and Sibyl Wimberley Murphy; and his brothers, Colonel James Robert Murphy and William Edgar Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Sanford Murphy; his daughter Elizabeth Murphy Tamplin (Rex); and his grandchildren, Sarah Elisabeth Tamplin of Shreveport, LA, Emma Caroline Tamplin of Shreveport, LA and Murphy Lawrence Tamplin of Shreveport, LA. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
