She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Vercher and Mattie Belle Tillmon; and her brother Henry "Sonny" Alexander Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Jeremy Orlando Gay (Shanella) and LaJuana Gay; her grandchildren, Septien Palmer, Tri Leonard Gay, Jaylen, Johnny Nelson, Jr. (Kiah) and Jotavia Landry; and her great grandchildren, Kynlee Nelson and Korbyn Nelson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's, Research Hospital.
