He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Nelson and Helen Nelson; his wife Mary (Boothe) of Monroeville; and his granddaughter Taylor Dawn Capps. He is survived by: his children, Brian Roger and Dawn Renee; his children-in-law, Kristin Nelson and Ron Glenk; his grandchildren, Baylee Capps (Rico), Chase Nelson, Lainey Nelson, Renee Glenk and Reese Glenk; his siblings, Mary Bush, Marcia Schoeberl (Leo) and Richard Nelson (Jeanne); his cousin Karen Harvey (Glenn); and his close friends, Gus and Doris Grassi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Roger's honor.
