With solemn reverence, we commemorate Robert W. Gillespie Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose life came to an end on October 2, 2024 at the age of 76, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillespie Guitrau and Ola Mae Guitrau; and his brothers, Jay, David and Douglas Gillespie.
He is survived by: his wife Josette Cassiere; his children, Michael, R. Paul Gillespie and Sarah Gillespie (Mark Graczykowski); his brother Fred Gillespie (Holly Leitch); his sisters-in-law, Leigha, Sandy and Jackie Gillespie; and his aunts, Carol Whittington and Sylvia Sanchez. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Jude Catholic Church (4700 Palmetto Rd, Benton, LA 71006). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport.
