He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Grimes and Ruth Grimes (Richmond); his wife Hattie Jane Grimes (Adamson); his children, Deborah Grimes and Richard N. Grimes, Jr.; and his sisters, Christine Grimes Hullett and Dorothy Grimes Dixon.
He is survived by: his nieces, Vicky Dixon Sexton (Mark) and Rose Hullett; and his nephew Robert C. "Chris" Hullett. He is also survived by 2 great nieces; and 3 great nephews.
