With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rex Hardy Pitman of Shreveport, Louisiana, born in Deridder, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 10, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Duford Hardy Pitman and Dorothy Mae Pitman; and his siblings, Jimmy Simmons, Doug Pitman and Darlene Hare.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Pitman; his sons, James Pitman and Chad Pitman (Amy); his grandchildren, Izabella Sandifer and Riley Pitman; his brothers, Jerry Simmons and Bob Simmons; and his caregivers, Connie Dukes and Twyla Tamez.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose Neath Funeral Homes - Shreveport Southside (2500 Southside Dr, Shreveport, LA 71118). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at the Forest Park West Cemetery (4400 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to North DeSoto Church of God building fund.
