With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nelwyne Searcy Burks (Shreveport, Louisiana), who passed away on April 2, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eula Pearl McBride Searcy and Sumpter Searcy; her siblings, Sherwood Searcy, Muriel Macklin, Allene Woodall and Alvin Searcy; and her husband Jack Burks.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin (Tristan Donehoo), Janene Burks and Jay G. Burks, Jr.; her grandchildren, Jack G. Burks, III and Tara; her children, Jack G. Burks, Everett and Hadley; her granddaughters, Juniper (Austin Sandate) and Jessica (Gary Donehoo); her great grandchildren, Trent and Cheyanne; and her daughter Marilyn. She is also survived by nieces & nephews.
