He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Attaway and Kathryn Attaway; and his siblings, Larry Attaway and Lisa Attaway. He is survived by: his wife Nelda Young Attaway; his daughter Tabitha Hightower Scott (Thomas Scott); his grandson Gregory Hightower Scott; and his sister Shiela Harris (Mike Harris). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and family.
