He was predeceased by: his parents, James Monroe Burns and Lillie Mason Burns; his former wife Joyce Yvonne Whiddon Burns; his nephew Jerry Burns; and his great-nephew Vance LeMont Burns.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Yvonne and Carl; his granddaughter Fallon (B. J.); and also, Mildred (Darrell), Norman and Jim.
