It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John W. Bell Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John W. Bell Jr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Woodburn Bell, Sr. and Virginia Mitchell Bell; his son John Woodburn Bell, III (Jay); and his siblings-in-law, Jack Harris, Willie Verret (Boo), Jerry Hebert and Patricia Hebert.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Bernard Bell; his children, Susan Bell Hall (Carl Leon Hall, Jr.) of Shreveport, LA and Brian Joseph Bell (Lori Heflin Bell) of Tyler, Texas; his grandchildren, Austin Hall (Mandi), Chase Hall (Mikayla), Taylor Hall, Parker J. Hall, Brandon Bell and Lauren Bell; his great grandchildren, Hooper Hall, Piper Hall and Marlowe Hall; his sister Virginia Bell Harris; and his sister-in-law Linda Verret Spencer (Charles Spencer). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Osborn Funeral Home (3631 Southern Ave, Shreveport, LA 71104). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
The family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to C. E. Byrd Alumni Association (https://byrdhighalumni.org) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
