With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Gloria Twohig in Shreveport, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2024 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Anthony Schubert, Sr. and Ermine Mary Ellen Barkemeyer; her siblings, Shirley Cosgrave, Christian, Frank, Jr., Alfred and George; and her children, Mary Ellen and Patrick Aloysius.
She is survived by: her husband Edmond J. Twohig, Sr.; her siblings, Delores Wattingney of Shreveport, LA, Beverly Dahmer (Allen) of Slidell, LA and Allen (Rita); and her children, Geraldine Gehrls (Bill) of Bossier City, LA, Kathleen Smith of Coushatta, LA, Lydia Mason of Houston, TX, Theresa Hilburn (Bobby) of Longview, TX, Michael Twohig, Edmond Twohig, Jr. (Pam), John Twohig (Leslie) of Haughton, LA and James Twohig (Johnnette) of Durango, CO. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The American Cancer Society.
