He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Ponder and Clara Lazarus Ponder; his wife Billie Spurlock Ponder; his parents-in-law, Ransom and Guthrie Spurlock; and his brothers, Charles and William Ponder.
He is survived by: his daughter Becky Ponder Burt (Brent); his grandson Matthew Burt (Molly); his great grandchild Isobel; and his sisters-in-law, Eloise Ponder and Nettie Mae Spurlock Semmes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
