With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irma Laverne Hill Matthews (Shreveport, Louisiana), born in Gilbert, Louisiana, who passed away on April 18, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Basil Hill and Mae Hill; her husband B. E. Matthews; her siblings, B. L. Hill, Gladys Hill, Elsie Bjorn and Anne Baker; and her brother-in-law Bill Baker.
She is survived by: her daughter Sherry Cordero; her son-in-law Noel Cordero; her grandchildren, Jenni, Dr. Dustie Dunn, Chris and Samantha Cordero; her great grandchildren, Jax, John, Jeb, Chase and Cameron; and her dear Woodridge Baptist Church. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to the T. Floyd Davis World Missions Offering at Woodridge Baptist Church.
