She was predeceased by: her parents, Ezekiel Carr and Evangeline Carr; and her siblings, Bertha Lee, Ruth, Patsy, Leola, Ruby, Mary and Elijah.

She is survived by: her children, Mary Jane, Gilliam Jr., Johnny, David, Joyce, Dorthy Ann, Jerry, Melvin, Flynel, Cynthia, Sharon and Debra; and her nieces, Glenda (Pancake), Rose and Susie. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
