He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph F. Nelson and Anna Bishop Nelson; and his siblings, Marie Patterson and Billy Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Doris I. Nelson; his son Dr. Jason D. Nelson (Lillian A. Nelson) of Shreveport, LA; his grandchildren, Sebastian J. Nelson and Mikaela M. Nelson of Shreveport, LA.; his sister-in-law Carolyn Nelson (Princess B. Gattis); his niece Monica Elms (Wendell); and his cousin Myrtle McKercher.
