He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur A. Ogletree, Sr. and Mildred Plowman Ogletree; his wife Kay Staples Ogletree; his brother Arthur Ogletree, Jr. (Art); his siblings-in-law, Ann Hodges Ogletree, Linda Odom Ogletree and Charlie Johnson; his stepson-in-law Monty Wright; and his stepgrandson Steven Staples.

He is survived by: his siblings, Lawrence "Larry" Ogletree, Charles L. Ogletree and Peggy Ogletree Johnson; his children, David A. Ogletree (Donna), Teresa Ogletree Conforto (Lou) and Lisa Ogletree Berry (John); his grandchildren, Nicholas Ogletree (Maria), Clayton Ogletree, John Berry Jr. Tyler (Whitney), Alison Conforto Le (Minh) and Monica Conforto; his great grandchildren, Olivia Berry, Emmalin Berry, Bronx Berry, Benton Berry, Blakely Berry, Casen Ogletree and Laken Ogletree; his stepchildren, Mike Staples (Denise), Melissa Staples Wright and Monette Staples Harris (Donnie); his stepgrandchildren, Danielle Cox (Jon), Candace Schutts (Stephen), Brian Headrick (Kristina), Gary Headrick, Michael Harris (Nikki), Michelle Harris Smiley (James) and Madison Harris; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Lillian Cox, Charlotte Cox, Audrey Staples, Preslee Headrick, Paxton Headrick, Addyson Foster and Lilley Smiley.
