It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Chester Simmons of Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on May 31, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones, keeping Donald Chester's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald C. Simmons and Peggy Carroll Simmons. He is survived by : his wife Linda Garcia Simmons; his daughter Whitney Simmons; his granddaughter Gloria Simmons; his son Ben Simmons (Claire); his grandchildren, Benjamin and Lily Simmons; and his sister Debby Petronis (Joe). He is also survived by numerous nieces and a nephew.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 4th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose Neath Funeral Homes - Shreveport Southside (2500 Southside Dr, Shreveport, LA 71118). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Rose-Neath Cemetery (5185 Swan Lake Rd, Bossier City, LA 71111).
