He was predeceased by: his parents, Lily Granberry Werner and Walter Crowell Werner. He is survived by: his wife Judith Donelson Jones; and his children, John Donelson Werner Jr. (Katherine Ballard), Thomas Westervelt Werner, Dr. Andrew McCarty Werner, Henry Townsend Werner (Caroline McCarty Werner), David Stratton Werner (Jane Stafford Werner), Mary Caffery Werner Brown (Lloyd Brown) and Tillman Augustus Brown (Mary Caffery Brown).
A memorial service was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral (908 Rutherford St, Shreveport, LA 71104).
