He was predeceased by: his mother Eliza Cuthrell; his siblings, William (Ida), Joel (Lena), Lemmie Davenport (Becky) and Levora "Lee" Stillman (John); and his wives, Kim Anh Pham and Alice Ebey Davenport.

He is survived by: his children, David Jr., John Davenport (Lyn) and Jennifer Meshell (Michael); and his grandchildren, Aiden Meshell, Katelyn and Jailyn Davenport. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
