With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Boyd Gene Birdsong of Shreveport, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 15, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alvin and Willie Ray Birdsong; and his siblings, Virginia Armstrong and Floyd Birdsong. He is survived by: his wife Jeneane Birdsong; his children, Alexandria Birdsong (Gary) and Mike Birdsong; and his stepchildren, James Gaskin, Steve Gaskin (Carrie), Alan Gaskin, Sharon Norris (Steve) and Pam Penick (David). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rose Neath Funeral Homes - Shreveport Southside (2500 Southside Dr, Shreveport, LA 71118). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at the Forest Park West Cemetery (4400 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109).
