He was predeceased by: his parents, DeWitt Hines and Lois Mooney Hines; and his siblings, William "Buddy" Howard Hines, Derwood Hines, Huey Hines, Laurice "Ed" Hines and Polly Hines Hall (Diane Hines).
He is survived by: his wife Sue C. Merritt Hines; his siblings, Dot Killen and Harry "Riley" Hines; his children, Tracy Hines Ketrow (Scott Ketrow) of Bloomington, IN and Bubba Hines (Sonja Hines) of Shreveport, LA; his stepson Greg Merritt of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Tiffany Hines, Casey Hines (Brittany), Ragan Bartholomew (Clark), Quinn Ketrow, Alex Ketrow, Madeline Merritt and Peter Merritt; and his great grandchildren, Sean, Bentley and Chandler. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Deacon Fund at Broadmoor Baptist Church in his honor.
