He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Peter Lafitte and Ethelene Benjamin Lafitte; his wife Evelyn Joyce Carpenter; his son John Edward Lafitte; his siblings, Flora Anne, Agnus, Catherine and Danny Eugene Lafitte; and his nephew Jerry Mitchell Corley.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry (Derek Jones) and Richard Wade Lafitte; his siblings, Ronnie Morrow, Sue Corley, Don Lafitte, Mike Lafitte and Eva Rawls; and his grandchildren, Brittany Lafitte, Cody (Justin Sepulvado), Crystal (Daniel Lacour), Ashley Rice, Andrew Lafitte, Hannah Baker and Justin Lafitte. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rose Neath Funeral Homes - Shreveport Southside (2500 Southside Dr, Shreveport, LA 71118). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home (2500 Southside Dr, Shreveport, LA 71118).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Salvation Army Church, 200 E. Stoner Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71101.
