He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Dayton Johnston and Lillian Turner Johnston; his siblings, L. D. Johnston Jr. and Emma June Haynes; and his wife Patsy.
He is survived by: his children, Gordon Rene'Johnston (Risa), Glenda Johnston Prince and Lori Anne Johnston; his grandchildren, Amy J. Marcantel (Jason), Justin Johnston, Angela N. Sims (Sammy), Laura N. LeBlanc and Ron Coleman (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Lily Giddens, Lucy Giddens, Baylee Marcantel, Jedd Marcantel, Sydney Johnston, Peyton Carter, Phillip Sims (Talie), Parker Bailey, Hunter LeBlanc, Aiden LeBlanc and Ella Coleman; and his great great grandchild Paislee Carter.
