With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Nell Duke of Shongaloo, Louisiana, born in Springhill, Louisiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Nell left this world on January 5, 2025 at the age of 85, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Durell Modisett and Mildred Modisett; her brothers, Drayton and Lane Modisett; and her daughter Terri Lynn Cole.
She is survived by: her husband Tommy Waylon Duke; her sons, Tommy Michael Duke (Kim) of Haughton, LA and Gregory Keith Duke (Karen) of Azle, TX; her grandchildren, Dana Bryan, Sean Cole, Sarah Akeroyd, Travis Duke and Ashley Buzbee; and her great grandchildren, Austin, Grant, Carter, Emily, Fallon and Bryden.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Old Shongaloo Rock Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
