He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Bernard and Edmay Bonnet-Bernard; his grandparents, Eraste and Macelyanne Bernard; his sister Tracey; his brother-in-law Morris Ruffin; his brother Wilton; his sister-in-law Rhena Bernard; his brothers, Lennis Bernard and Alton Bernard; and his son-in-law Robert Mouton.

He is survived by: his wife Regina Bernard; his sister Enna Thibeaux (Leonard); his children, Walton Bernard Jr. (Belva), Geralmaine Mouton, Yvonne Fruge (Antonio) and Wallace Bernard; his grandchildren, Joshua Mouton, Alicia Mouton, Simon Bernard, Jasper Bernard, Brad Bazile, Malonie Semere, Jarred Bernard, Kyle Semere and Jeremiah Bernard; and his great grandchildren, Caleb Mouton, Simon Bernard Jr., Addisyn Bernard, Amelia Bernard and Rylie Bernard.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all attendees must wear masks or face coverings.
