He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schexnayder and Angelique Schexnayder; and his siblings, Ivy Schexnayder, Eva Fontenot, Elvie Fontenot and Theresa Leger.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Jane Truax Schexnayder of Scott; his children, Cynthia Geerts of Evangeline and Darrell James Schexnayder of Scott; and his grandchildren, Kolby, Christopher, Devert and Paula Geerts. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
