It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Austin McMurtry of Sarepta, Louisiana, who passed away on August 18, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie McMurtry and Myrtle Gardner McMurtry; and his siblings, Charles McMurtry, JoElla Hough and Lorene Litton.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Thomas McMurtry of Sarepta, LA; his sons, Tony McMurtry (Mona) of Opelousas, LA and Scott McMurtry (Rhonda) of Springhill, LA; and his granddaughter Hannah Huckabay of Springhill, LA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and beloved in-laws.
