He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Syon and Mary Lee Carter; his nieces, Corronda Syon and Mary Syon; his son-in-law Willis Curley, Jr.; his brothers, Russell Carter, Rodney Carter and Willie Carter; and his siblings-in-law, Clifton Greene, Alfred Greene, Mary Alice Darby and Mildred Darby.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Greene Carter; his children, Trinika Carter, Thomas Carter, Jr. (Kristie) and Korey Carter (Christine); and his siblings, Mary Bell Gage (Richard), Laura Bell Carter, Anna Bell Martin (Alfred), Belita Ann George (Calvin), Elroy Carter and Johnny Taylor (Felicia). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
