He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Francis Akers, Sr. and Estelle Oubre Akers; his brothers, Clyde Francis Akers, Jr. and James Brian Akers; his son-in-law Mike Daigle; and his mother-in-law Olympe Beslin D'Albor.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley D'Albor Akers; and his sister Audrey Akers Viator. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
