With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katherine J. B. Bercier Carriere (Saint Joseph, Louisiana), born in Rayne, Louisiana, who passed away on April 9, 2020 at the age of 73. She was predeceased by: her husband James Burton Carriere; her parents, Edwin L. Bercier II and Clarisse Dumesnil Bercier; her granddaughter Chelsea Marie Carriere; her great grandchild Odin Ray Istre; her parents-in-law, Cleve and Cedia Young Carriere; her sister-in-law Vickey Carriere; and her niece Suzanne Bercier.
She is survived by: her children, Chad Carriere (Rochelle), Scott Carriere and Kimberly Carriere Menard (Neil) of Lafayette; her brothers, Dr. Edwin L. Bercier III (Pat) of Roberts Cove and Michael Bercier of Rayne; her siblings-in-law, Kearney Carrier of Scott, Shirley, Dudley Simon of Rayne and Darrell Carriere (Carl) of Lake Charles; her grandchildren, Claire Carriere (Dylan Herbert), Robert Welch, Leah Allen (Andrew Bellard) and Lauren Allen; her great grandchildren, Lilah Bellard and Abraham Bellard; her children, Kaitlyn Reaux Johnston, Parker, Grace, Kay, Jerry and Renee; and her close friend Paul Treadway. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
She volunteered for all the KLFY Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethons answering the phones and collecting donations for people with muscular dystrophy.
