He is survived by: his spouse Geraldlynn Leger; his son Freddie Bertrand, III of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Denecia, Deja, Freddie IV and Dynazia; his siblings, Rosa Harris (Aaron) of Washington, LA, Ruby Broussard (Wilson) of Beaumont, TX, Helen Colwell of Houston, TX, Mildred LeBlanc of Houston, TX, Aaron Bertrand (Brenda) of Houston, TX, Gerry Pate (Willie) of Houston, TX and Glendon Bertrand of Opelousas, LA; his sister-in-law Johnnie Lee Bertrand of Beaumont, TX; and his close friend Pearl Robinson of Opelousas, LA..
The family respectfully request that services be limited to immediate family and close friends and appropriate social distancing observed and face coverings be worn per state mandate. Funeral services will be held privately on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 11:00 A. M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Plaisance Community, Opelousas, LA for Mr. Freddie Bertrand, Jr. who entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Opelousas, in the comfort care of Grace Hospice.
