He is survived by: his siblings, Felton Johnson (Delores) of Baton Rouge, Lucille Lodge, Geraldine Refuge (LaBarick), Joyce Ambrose (John), Perry Lynn Jackson, Lizzie Coleman and Gloria Smith; his sister-in-law Betty Johnson of Baton Rouge; his aunts and uncles, Jessie Porter of Portland, OR, Leontine Jones, Huey P. Fleming, Albert Burl, James Patterson Jr and Archis Stewart; his friend Jerry Brown of St Gabriel; and his parents, Melvin Sr. and Majorie Johnson Sr.. He is also survived by grandparents, three brothers and one sister and a step- sister.
