He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Cook and Martille Copeland Cook; his sister Mary Lois Cook-Hughes; his brother-in-law Harry Hughes; his niece Melissa Hughes-Hall; his great-niece Renee Hall; and his nephew Gordon Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Lynda Cook of Ruston; his sisters, Nancy Frye of Ruston, Beth Cook-Munson (John) of Ruston, Pixie Kees (Roy) of Ruston and Ruth Anne Johnson (Bill) of Elkin, NC; his children, Angela McNerny (Michael), Tina Ray (Aaron), Joy Nolan (Shawn) and Bobby Cook; his stepchildren, Lisa Till (Todd), Mandy Minnifield (Terry) and Brian Hester (Lynn); his grandchildren, Robert Nolan, Sarah Nolan, Megan Nolan, Jake Ray, Jerrod Ray, Colin McNerny, Justin McNerny, Megan McNerny, Blake Till (Katie), Lauren Powell (Josh) and Samantha Minnifield; his great grandchildren, Finley Powell and Hollis Powell; and his nieces and nephews, Randy Hughes, Matthew Hughes, Blake Johnson, Adam Johnson, Patrick Curry, Ben Curry, Debbie Tinsley, Dawn Frye and Danielle Landry.
