It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merrill Goodwyn Jr. in Ruston, Louisiana, born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on March 23, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Merrill Goodwyn and Alene Thurman Goodwyn; and his sister Mary Ann Goodwyn. He is survived by: his children, David Goodwyn (Jessica), Sharon Goodwyn King and Mary Minchew Hooper; and his friend Esther Lu Lazarus. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a gift in Merrill's honor to "A Thousand Summers," a foundation that sponsors youth to attend the Cheley camp, so formative to Merrill as a youth.
