He was predeceased by: his parents, D. L. Hammons and Mary Hammons; his daughter Deborah Hammons Purvis; his sisters, Lois Franklin and Nancy Gay; his granddaughter Shelby Massey; and his great grandchild Marjorie Hill.
He is survived by: his significant other Nellie Massey; his daughters, Donna Brown of Dubach, Deanie Hattaway (Robert) of Dubach, Ramie Brobst (Kenny) of Choudrant and Dawn Mari (Zuheer) of Ruston; his siblings, Jimmy Hammons (Linda) of Dubach and Evelyn Taylor (Charles) of Dubach; his brother-in-law Gary Franklin of Magnolia, AR; his significant other's sons, David Massey (Barbara) of Shreveport, Douglas Massey (Valerie) of Springfield, MO and John R. Massey of Ruston; and his grandchildren, April, Jeremy Burnham, Kyle Campbell, Robert, Jamie Hattaway, Rachel Hattaway, Jeremy Kirkham, Dustin, Hannah Clements, Lindsay, Brooke Embry, Deanna Hunter, Noel, Chance Carlton, Jeremy Massey, Andrea, Josh Dixon, Chelsea, Jacob Parker, Christopher Lindsay, Halle Denwiddie, John S. Massey and Garrett Massey. He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins.
