He was predeceased by: his siblings, Clotile Johnson, Hardy "Sap" Broom, Jr. and Bobby Broom (Dorris); and his nephew Damon Broom. He is survived by: his wife Doris Broom; his children, Chris Broom (Holly), Valarie Cain, Katie Kimbell (Donald) and Melissa Young; his grandchildren, Luke Broom (Mikayla), Kaylee Broom, Jeremy Lunsford (Lynsey) and Lindsay Lunsford; his great grandchildren, Levi, Lydia, Brooks, Lillie, Camellia, Violet, Kynzee and Jace; his nephew Kelvin Broom; and his nieces, Lisa McPherson, Becky Broom, Candy McCauliffe and Toni Takewell.
