It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Frederick Gomilla of Ruston, Louisiana, born in Hammond, Louisiana, who passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Agnes Gomilla Pfiffner and Samuel Gomilla; his former wife Elizabeth Copeland Gomilla; his brother Joseph Gomilla; his brothers-in-law, Bill Haupers and Lee Copeland; and his uncles, Frank Gomilla and Paul Gomilla.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Gillespie Gomilla; his children, Rebecca "Becky" Gomilla Beck and Darrell Wayne Pierson; his stepsons, Anthony Wayne Lindsey and Mike Lindsey; his grandchildren, Branden Keith Beck, Elizabeth Paige Beck of Homer, LA, Morgan James Pierson, Jennifer Jones and Lindsey Lesley; his stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Rank, Jessica Lynn Guevara and Codie Lindsey Merritt; his siblings, Sammy Gomilla, Vita Haupers, Lorraine Gomilla and Mary Copeland; his nieces and nephews, Hollie Haupers Ortigoza, Susan Haupers Sansweet, Michelle Gomilla Benevides, Joél Gomilla Jones, Laura Copeland Motal, Angela Copeland Crowell, Darren Gomilla, Scott Haupers, Jon Haupers, Mitch Haupers, Michael Haupers and Tommy Copeland; and his cousin Johnny Gomilla. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
