He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Lutes and Wilbert Lutes; his wife Merlene; and his son Edward Lynn. He is survived by: his son Charles Preston; his granddaughters, Lori Elizabeth and Lindsay Kristina; his children, Preston Lutes and Margaret Anne Slade (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Lori Seacrist (Philip), Jonathan Slade (Meggan) and Sara Orth (Dustin).
