He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Ragan "Dick" Thompson Sr. and Mittie Mae Bowman Thompson; his sister Jane Thompson Price; and his half-sister Dot Thompson Bawcom. He is survived by: his wife Melba Thompson of Ruston, His; his children, Teri Thompson Schalewski (Mike) of Bossier City, Scott Thompson (Rita) of Ruston, Russ Thompson (Ann) of Ruston and Clay Thompson (Laura) of Argyle, Texas.; his grandchildren, Greg Thompson (Jennifer), Cole Thompson (Kalen), Mary-Arthur Plette (Michael), Andie Thompson, Hunter Thompson, Maura Haydin, Henry Thompson and Luke Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Grant Thompson, James Thompson, Lucy Plette and Sam Plette.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Children's Building fund.
