He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Georg and Helen'Lena'; his wife Wanda; and his siblings, Robert Wessels and Ruby Poteet.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Penny of Lombard, IL, Carl Wessels (Denise) of Waxahachie, TX and Kenneth Wessels (Kay) of Benton, LA; his grandchildren, Jonathan Penny (Michelle), Maricatherine Finley (Jason), Billy Wessels (Shannon), Melanie Willoughby (Jake), Benjamin "Ben" Wessels, Kendra Linck (Cameron) and Courtney Wessels; his great grandchildren, William Penny, Charles Penny, Martin Penny, Thomas Finley and Baylor Linck; and his brothers, Lloyd Wessels of Rogers, AR and William "Bill" Wessels (Sheryl) of Tyler, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Grace Methodist Church in Ruston, LA.
