She was predeceased by: her husband Joe Carroll Backus; and her siblings, Arlen Mansfield Scott, Noel Dane Scott and Carolea Scott Hassard. She is survived by: her children, Melaney Elizabeth Backus DeOliviera (Rhea) of Ruston, LA and Joe Carroll "Jody" Backus, II (Sherri) of Benton, LA; and her grandchildren, Charley DeOliviera (Charlotte) of Dubach, LA, Bryan DeOliviera (Nikki) of Alberta, Ben Backus (Lindsay) of Nashville, TN, Stephen Backus (Hannah) of Choudrant, LA, Caleb Backus (Cassidy) of Bossier City, LA, Tori Johnson (Mark) of Benton, LA and Courtney Hester (James) of Benton, LA. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
