He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertie Carruth and Samuel Carruth; his wife Avis Carruth; his sisters, Tressie Miller and Macsyne Brown; and his grandson Clay Kinchen.
He is survived by: his children, Annette Kinchen Ensley, Peggy Berry (Randy) of Leesville and Daniel Carruth of Rosepine; his sister Katherine Figga (Tom) of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Scott Kinchen, Julie Harbin (Elbert), Chris Berry (Dalia), Sarah Mount (Shannon), Amanda Brister (Brandon) and Danny Carruth; his great grandchildren, Ashlie Kinchen Dunn, Mitchell Kinchen, Alexis Harbin, Elbert Harbin III, Blaize Adams, Triston Mount, Zoe Mount, Bobby Berry, Makenzie Brister and Destini Brister; and his great great grandchild Elbert Harbin III.
