He was predeceased by: his parents, L. H. Bankston and Ruth Bankston; his wife Dorothy Hendon Bankston; and his siblings, Ester Ruth Pettit, Doris Sweatt, Bro. Harold Bankston, Billy Bankston, Johnny Bankston, Sidney Bankston and Curtis Bankston.
He is survived by: his children, Gay Nell Colvin (Jay), Keith Lynn Bankston (Arlene) and Percy Houston Bankston (Brenda); his sister Brenda Bankston; his grandchildren, Holli Carlton (Aaron), Hope Bankston, Valerie Bankston, Garrett Bankston, Delaney Bankston, Levi Colvin and Orin Colvin; and his great grandchildren, Levi Jude Carlton and Cyrus Carlton.
