He is survived by: his wife Cathy Davis McElveen; his children, Kacey Leyrer (Greg), Katie Derbins (Peter) and Brandon C. McElveen (Ashley); his sisters, Carol Jenkins and Pam Alston; his grandchildren, Brayden Leyrer, Logan Leyrer, McKay Leyrer, Blythe McElveen, Mason Derbins and Molly Derbins; and his great grandchild Beckham Cole Leyrer.
