He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter J. Oertling and Carmen Oertling (Memory); his former spouse Merryl Claire Davis; his wife Gina Maddalozzo; and his brother Robert Oertling.
He is survived by: his sister Carmen Mason (Robert) of San Antonio; his children, James Oertling (Amanda) of Slidell, David Oertling (Rachel) of Russellville, Laura Oertling (Billy) of Slidell, Dr. Kenneth Oertling (Kelli) of Des Allemands, Jeff Oertling (Andrea) of Lacombe, John Gary Oertling of Lacombe, Jason Oertling (Michelle) of Slidell and Cody Oertling of Minneapolis; his mother-in-law Margaret Davis of Lacombe; his daughter-in-law Julie Welch (Jon); his nephews, William Mason (Laura) of San Antonio, Bryan Mason (Genevie) of San Antonio and Greg Mason of Sugarland; his niece Elizabeth Miller (Russell) of San Antonio; and his former wife Sheila Sill (Roger) of Alexandria. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, one great granddaughter, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family; and life-long friends.
