He is survived by: his wife Velda Smith Thornton; his children, Donna Maricelli (Rick), Rhonda Maricelli (James), Jimmy Thornton (Donna), Marty Hines (Joel) and Sandra Mulkey (Jody); and his brother LaVan Thornton (Bertha). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
